His delegation looked forward to working with the Chairperson on increasing the information available to Member States on all the Non-Self-Governing Territories in order to help promote their self-determination.

90. The Governor of Guam stated that, as the United Nations embarked on its Second International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism, he was sure that the people in all the Non-Self-Governing Territories would agree that there was no substitute for their views when deciding their futures.

8. Week of Solidarity with the Peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories
8 - أســبوع التضامــن مــع شعوب جميع الأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي

The United Nations and its Special Committee on Decolonization must continue to function in this capacity until the status of all Non-Self-Governing Territories dictates that this chapter of the history of the world be closed once and for all;
ويجب أن تواصل اﻷمم المتحدة ولجنتها المعنية بإنهاء الاستعمار العمل بهذه الصفة إلى أن يملي مركز جميع اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي إنهاء هذا الفصل من تاريخ العالم إلى غير رجعة؛

30. In this regard, some participants urged the Special Committee not to emphasize that all Non-Self-Governing Territories should conduct an act of self-determination by the year 2000 in order that they may continue to keep open their options on future political status.
٣٠ - وفي هذا الصدد، حث بعض المشاركين اللجنة الخاصة على عدم التشديد على وجوب أن تتخذ جميع اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي إجراء لتقرير المصير بحلول عام ٢٠٠٠ كي تبقى خياراتها، بشأن مركزها السياسي المقبل، مفتوحة أمامها.

17. His delegation wished to thank the Chairman of the Special Committee and the delegation of Fiji for providing the Committee with honest assessments of the obstacles to achieving complete decolonization of all Non-Self-Governing Territories by the year 2000.
١٧ - وتوجه، باسم وفد جزر مارشال، بالشكر إلى رئيس اللجنة الخاصة ووفد فيجي لموافاتهما اللجنة بعرض دقيق للصعوبات التي تعوق إنهاء استعمار جميع اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي بحلول عام ٢٠٠٠ حسبما هو مقرر.

(c) Representatives of all Non-Self-Governing Territories will be invited to participate;
)ج( ستوجه دعوة الى ممثلي جميع اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي للاشتراك فيها؛

29. The United Nations Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women should be invited to visit all Non-Self-Governing Territories and to examine the main gender specific violations perpetrated in those Territories;
٢٩ - ينبغي دعوة المقررة الخاصة لﻷمم المتحدة المعنية بموضوع العنف ضد المرأة إلى زيارة جميع اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي ودراسة الانتهاكات الرئيسة التي ترتكب في تلك اﻷقاليم مستهدفة اﻷشخاص لجنسهم تحديدا؛

" 12. Noting that the Plan of Action for the International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism provided for the holding of seminars alternately in the Caribbean and the Pacific regions, the Working Group decided to recommend to the Special Committee that it organize in 1997 a seminar in the Caribbean region, to be attended by representatives of all Non-Self-Governing Territories.
" ١٢ - بعد أن لاحظ الفريق العامل أن خطة عمل العقد الدولي للقضاء على الاستعمار تنص على عقد حلقات دراسية بالتناول في منطقة البحر الكاريبي والمحيط الهادئ، قرر أن يوصي اللجنة الخاصة بتنظيم حلقة دراسية تعقد في منطقة البحر الكاريبي في عام ١٩٩٧، ويحضرها ممثلو جميع اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي.

32. The Chairman, speaking as the representative of Côte d'Ivoire, assured the previous speaker that the Special Committee was very mindful of the problems of all the Non-Self-Governing Territories with which it had to deal.
32 - الرئيس: تكلم بصفته ممثلا لكوت ديفوار، فأكد للمتكلم السابق أن اللجنة الخاصة تعي تماما مشاكل جميع الأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي التي يتعين عليها معالجتها.

2. In its resolution 59/136 of 10 December 2004, the General Assembly approved the programme of work of the Special Committee envisaged for 2005, including the holding of a seminar in the Caribbean region to be organized by the Committee and attended by the representatives of all the Non-Self-Governing Territories.
2 - ووافقت الجمعية العامة في قرارها 59/136، المؤرخ 10 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2004، على برنامج العمل الذي تعتزم اللجنة الخاصة الاضطلاع به في عام 2005، ويشمل عقد حلقة دراسية في منطقة البحر الكاريبي تنظمها اللجنة ويحضرها ممثلون من جميع الأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي.

17. The Seminar recommends that, following invitations by local authorities, the Special Committee undertake missions to all the Non-Self-Governing Territories in the Caribbean, as well as Bermuda, in the coming year, in order to further discuss the question of self-determination with the representatives of the administering Power and the peoples of the Territories.
17 - ويوصي المشاركون في الحلقة الدراسية بأن ترسل اللجنة الخاصة، تلبية لدعوة السلطات المحلية، بعثات إلى جميع الأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي في منطقة البحر الكاريبي، فضلا عن برمودا، في السنة القادمة بغية مواصلة مناقشة قضية تقرير المصير مع ممثلي الدولة القائمة بالإدارة وشعوب الأقاليم.

(c) Adopting resolutions on all the Non-Self-Governing Territories listed with it and that is generally done during the month of June;
(ج) اتخاذ قرارات بشأن جميع الأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي المدرجة في قائمة اللجنة، ويتم ذلك عادة في شهر حزيران/يونيه؛

As of the start of the sixth cycle cooperation framework, therefore, all of the Non-Self-Governing Territories of the Caribbean that maintain technical cooperation programmes with UNDP have attained the status of net contributor countries.
ولهذا حققت جميع اﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي في حوض البحر الكاريبي والتي تقيم برامج تعاون تقني مع البرنامج اﻹنمائي، اعتبارا من بداية إطار التعاون للدورة السادسة، مركز البلدان المتبرعة الصافية.
