From the outset, Switzerland has supported the efforts of the Secretary-General in the area of restructuring, and we welcome the adoption by the General Assembly of resolution 61/257, entitled " Strengthening of the capacity of the Organization to advance the disarmament agenda " . We also very much look forward to working closely together with the new head of the Office for Disarmament Affairs.

8. Stresses the importance of well-trained, impartial, experienced and geographically diverse mediation process and substance experts at all levels to ensure the timely and highest quality support to mediation efforts, supports the efforts of the Secretary-General in maintaining an updated roster of mediators, and encourages the continuing efforts to improve its gender balance and equitable geographical representation;
8 - تؤكد أهمية وجود خبراء مدربين جيدا محايدين لهم دراية بأمور الوساطة وينتمون إلى مناطق جغرافية متنوعة، على جميع المستويات لكفالة دعم جهود الوساطة على أكمل وجه وفي الوقت المناسب، وتدعم جهود الأمين العام في تعهد قائمة مستكملة بالوسطاء، وتشجع مواصلة الجهود المبذولة للنهوض بالتوازن بين الجنسين والتمثيل الجغرافي العادل فيها؛

22. The mandate relating to the Central American peace process will expire at the end of 2003, and it is anticipated that, after its consideration of the report of the Secretary-General on the subject (A/58/270), the General Assembly will renew the mandate for the continuation of the efforts of the Secretary-General in the Central American region.

7 - يؤكد عزمه على أن ينظر في الإذن للأمين العام بنقل مزيد من القوات، حسب ما قد يلزم، بين بعثة الأمم المتحدة في ليبريا وعملية الأمم المتحدة في كوت ديفوار على أساس مؤقت، وفقا لأحكام القرار 1609 (2005)، ويهيب بالبلدان المساهمة بقوات أن تدعم جهود الأمين العام في هذا الصدد؛
