وتبين هذه الوثيقة المجالات التي ستواصل فيها لجنة بناء السلام تقديم الدعم إلى حكومة بوروندي في ما تبذله من جهود لبناء السلام.

90 - والواقع أن اشتراك منظومة الأمم المتحدة والحكومة في تحديد الأولويات الاستراتيجية للفترة 2010-2014، مع أخذ الجوانب المتصلة بالتنمية وبقاء السلام في الحسبان، يؤكد مفهوم التكامل الذي تعمل به الأمم المتحدة في بوروندي لدعم الحكومة فيما تبذله من جهود لبناء السلام.

The discussion focused on two key questions, namely: (a) are there peacebuilding efforts that the Commission can support, justifying its continued engagement in the Central African Republic? and (b) if there are, how should the Commission support these efforts, while ensuring that its engagement supports the efforts deployed by the United Nations system on the ground?
وركزت المناقشة على مسألتين رئيسيتين هما: (أ) هل توجد جهود لبناء السلام يمكن للجنة أن تدعمها، بما يبرر استمرار عملها في جمهورية أفريقيا الوسطى؟؛ و (ب) كيف تدعم اللجنة تلك الجهود، إن وُجِدَت، وتكفل في الوقت نفسه أن ما تقوم به من عمل يدعم الجهود التي تبذلها منظومة الأمم المتحدة في الميدان؟

Since the establishment of the United Nations Angola Verification Mission I (UNAVEM I) in 1988, the United Nations, with the support of the international community, has played a critical role in the peace process through a series of peacekeeping operations, accompanied by peace-building efforts and humanitarian assistance.
