On instructions from my Government, and further to the consultations conducted by Mr. Paul Biya, President of the Republic of Cameroon and current Chairman of the Organization of African Unity, I have the honour to present to you the candidature of Mr. Hamid Algabid for the post of Secretary-General of the United Nations.
بناء على تعليمات من حكومتي، وعلى إثر مشاورات بين السيد بول بيا، رئيس جمهورية الكاميرون والرئيس الحالي لمنظمة الوحدة اﻷفريقية، أتشرف بأن أقدم لكم ترشيح السيد حامد الغابد لمنصب أمين عام اﻷمم المتحدة.

Let me here make it clear that Mr. Hamid Algabid, the candidate in question, is simply a “candidate for the candidacy”.
اسمحوا لي أن أقول إن السيد حامد الغابد الذي طرح اسمـــه كمرشح هو مجرد " مرشح " .

رسالة مؤرخة ٦ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر (S/1996/1023) موجهة إلى رئيس مجلس اﻷمن من ممثل النيجر يقدم فيها ترشيح اسم السيد حامد الغابد )النيجر( لشغل منصب اﻷمين العام لﻷمم المتحدة.

5. On 15 May 1993, during his visit to United Nations Headquarters, Mr. Hamid Algabid, Secretary-General of OIC, met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations to discuss matters of common interest to the two organizations, in particular the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
٥ - وفي ١٥ أيار/مايو ١٩٩١ اجتمع السيد حامد الغابد اﻷمين العام لمنظمة المؤتمر الاسلامي أثناء زيارته لمقر اﻷمم المتحدة باﻷمين العام لﻷمم المتحدة لمناقشة المسائل ذات اﻷهمية بالنسبة للمنظمتين. ولا سيما الحالة في البوسنة والهرسك.

In response to the request contained in a letter dated 27 April 1994 from the representative of Pakistan (S/1994/507), the President, with the consent of the Council, extended an invitation, under rule 39 of the Council's provisional rules of procedure, to Mr. Hamid Algabid, Secretary General of OIC.
واستجابة للطلب الوارد في رسالة مؤرخة ٢٧ نيسان/أبريل ١٩٩٤ موجهة من ممثل باكستان )S/1994/507(، وجه الرئيس، بموافقة المجلس، الدعوة، بموجب المادة ٣٩ من النظام الداخلي المؤقت للمجلس، دعوة الى السيد حامد الغابد اﻷمين العام لمنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي.
