١ - يطلب إلى اﻷطراف اﻷفغانية كافة أن توقف فورا جميع اﻷعمال العدائية المسلحة، وأن تنبذ استخدام القوة، وأن تنحي خلافاتها جانبا، وأن تدخل في حوار سياسي بهدف تحقيق المصالحة الوطنية وتسوية الصراع تسوية سياسية دائمة وإقامة حكومة انتقالية للوحدة الوطنية ممثلة لجميع اﻷطراف وعريضة القاعدة؛

The world community must send a clear signal to the warring parties immediately to halt all hostilities, refrain from the use of force, set aside their differences and engage in political dialogue aimed at national reconciliation, a lasting political settlement to the conflict and the establishment of a completely representative and broad-based transitional government of national unity.

In this connection, as requested in the draft resolution, the Special Mission would continue its efforts to facilitate national reconciliation and reconstruction in Afghanistan, in particular by mediating among the Afghan parties concerned an immediate and durable ceasefire and instituting a negotiating process leading to the formation of a fully representative, broad-based transitional government of national unity.
وفي هذا الصدد، وكما هو مطلوب في مشروع القرار، ستواصل البعثة الخاصة جهودها لتيسير المصالحة الوطنية والتعمير في أفغانستان، ولا سيما عن طريق القيام بدور الوساطة مع اﻷطراف اﻷفغانية المعنية من أجل تحقيق وقف فوري ودائم ﻹطلاق النار وبدء عملية تفاوض تؤدي إلى تشكيل حكومة انتقالية للوحدة الوطنية ذات قاعدة عريضة وطابع تمثيلي كامل.

In this connection, as requested in the draft resolution, the Special Mission would continue its efforts to facilitate national reconciliation and reconstruction in Afghanistan, in particular by mediating among the Afghan parties concerned an immediate and durable ceasefire and instituting a negotiating process leading to the formation of a fully representative, broad-based transitional government of national unity.

When the 60-day deadline passed, at an extraordinary summit held on 25 August 2014, the Heads of State of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) signed a protocol on agreed principles on transitional arrangements towards resolution of the crisis in South Sudan, in which they called on stakeholders to conclude an agreement establishing a transitional government of national unity within 45 days.
وعقب انقضاء الموعد النهائي الذي مهلته 60 يوما، قام رؤساء الدول المنضوية تحت الهيئة الحكومية الدولية المعنية بالتنمية، خلال مؤتمر قمة استثنائي عقد في 25 آب/أغسطس 2014، بتوقيع بروتوكول المبادئ المتفق عليها بشأن الترتيبات الانتقالية صوب حل الأزمة في جنوب السودان، الذي دعوا فيه الجهات صاحبة المصلحة إلى إبرام اتفاق لإنشاء حكومة انتقالية للوحدة الوطنية في غضون 45 يوما.
