The international community remained committed to supporting the efforts of the Government of Lebanon in laying a democratic foundation for an open, free and tolerant society in parallel with the vibrant press and civil society that had evolved over recent years.

The Council also welcomed the determination and commitment of the Government of Lebanon to bring to justice the perpetrators, organizers and sponsors of this and other assassinations and underlined the determination to support the Government of Lebanon in its efforts to this end.
ورحب المجلس أيضا بتصميم حكومة لبنان والتزامها بأن تقدم إلى العدالة من ارتكبوا ونظموا ودعموا هذا الاغتيال وغيره من الاغتيالات، وأكد تصميمه على دعم حكومة لبنان في مساعيها لهذا الغرض.

At the same time, I note in particular the alternative path suggested by the Government of Lebanon in its Seven-Point Plan, namely placing the Shab'a Farms under United Nations jurisdiction until a border is permanently delineated and Lebanese sovereignty over them is settled.
وفي الوقت نفسه، أود الإشارة بوجه خاص إلى المسار البديل الذي اقترحته حكومة لبنان في خطة النقاط السبع التي طرحتها، ويتمثل في وضع مزارع شبعا تحت ولاية الأمم المتحدة إلى أن يتم ترسيم الحدود بصورة دائمة، وتسوية مسألة السيادة اللبنانية عليها.

I call upon Member States and relevant regional organizations to redouble their efforts in support of the Government of Lebanon in this regard.
وإنني أدعو الدول الأعضاء والمنظمات الإقليمية المعنية بالأمر إلى أن تضاعف من جهودها المبذولة من أجل دعم حكومة لبنان في هذا الصدد.

1. Appeals to all Member States and all organizations of the United Nations system to intensify their efforts to mobilize all possible assistance for the Government of Lebanon in its reconstruction and development efforts;
١ - يناشد جميع الدول اﻷعضاء وجميع المؤسسات التابعة لمنظومة اﻷمم المتحدة تكثيف جهودها لحشد كل ما يمكن تقديمه من مساعدة إلى حكومة لبنان في جهود التعمير والتنمية التي تضطلع بها؛

كما أننا اتفقنا على أنه، في حال تأييد المجلس للاقتراح، ستتعاون الأمم المتحدة تعاونا وثيقا مع حكومة لبنان في ما يتعلق باختصاصات هذه البعثة.
