تؤكد حكومة السودان أن التصديق على اتفاقية ما أو عدمه، هو شأنٌ سيادي تختص به الدولة إلا أننا وفى سبيل إتاحة المعلومات للجنة نذكر أن الدراسات القانونية حول الاتفاقية قد اكتملت ورفعت إلى الجهات المختصة بقصد تبنيها ومن ثم استكمال الإجراءات التشريعية الخاصة بالتصديق.

Her delegation welcomed the initiative taken by UNHCR to hold consultations on the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, on the understanding that those consultations would serve the purpose of ensuring its full implementation. The 1951 Convention and the 1967 Protocol must continue to serve as the cornerstone of international refugee law.
