In these conditions, there are very serious reasons to fear that the radical alignment on such an integration choice will fail to bring the two parties to the conflict together and achieve the " mutually acceptable political solution to their dispute over Western Sahara " to which the Security Council remains attached.
ومما يُخشى كثيرا في هذه الأحوال ألا يتيح الانسياق الكلي وراء خيار اندماجي من ذلك القبيل التقارب بين طرفي الصراع والاتفاق على " حل سياسي يقبله الطرفان لنزاعهما حول الصحراء الغربية " ، وهو حل ما زال مجلس الأمن متمسكا به.

In that regard, the Minister indicated in his letter that Morocco was " further open to the 33 mechanisms of the United Nations body " and stated that these new arrangements fully covered the human rights dimensions of the dispute over Western Sahara.

In view of the responses received from the Government of Algeria and the Frente POLISARIO, in which they rejected the draft framework agreement (S/2002/41, annexes I and II), my Personal Envoy did not see any real likelihood that the parties would ultimately agree voluntarily to this approach to solving their dispute over Western Sahara.

The Commission recalled that the General Assembly had examined the report of the Secretary-General (A/58/171) and, in paragraph 3, it strongly supported the efforts of the Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy in order to achieve a mutually acceptable political solution to the dispute over Western Sahara.
