36. It is proposed to augment the Office of the Chief of technical support services in Pristina with a Field Service post of Administrative Assistant through the reassignment of one Field Service post from the support component of the Mitrovica Office, Office of the Chief of Mission Support.

The proposal to reassign one Field Service post of Information Technology Assistant from the Mitrovica Office to the Office of the Chief of technical support services in Pristina was unjustified and did not reflect real needs; the post was important for the functioning of the Mitrovica Office and should not be reassigned.

At its resumed fifty-fifth session in June 2001, the General Assembly noted the report of the Office of Internal Oversight Services on the inspection of the consolidation of technical support services in the Department of General Assembly Affairs and Conference Services (A/55/803) (decision 55/461 B).

Also at the same meeting, the representative of Botswana stated that, during the informal consultations, the Committee had decided to postpone consideration of the report of the Office of Internal Oversight Services on the inspection of the consolidation of technical support services in the Department of General Assembly Affairs and Conference Services (A/55/803) to the second part of the resumed fifty-fifth session of the General Assembly.
