The Advisory Committee is encouraged to note that in cases where delegated authority in the management of human resources has been improperly exercised, the Assistant Secretary-General for Human Resources Management would advise the Secretary-General, who could limit or withdraw the delegated authority (see A/61/255, para. 101). The Committee has commented regularly on the need for clear lines of authority and the requisite accountability.
