44. Similarly, the Set of Principles for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights through action to combat impunity (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1997/20/Rev.1, annex II) contains a principle 31, entitled " Restrictions on the jurisdiction of military courts " , which stipulates:

The Commission also requested the Secretary-General to appoint an independent expert, for a period of one year, to update the 1997 Set of Principles for the protection and promotion of human rights through action to combat impunity (resolution 2004/72).

Takes note with appreciation of the report of the independent expert and the updated Set of Principles for the protection and promotion of human rights through action to combat impunity (E/CN.4/2005/102 and Add.1) as a guideline to assist States in developing effective measures for combating impunity;
20- تحيط علماً مع التقدير بتقرير الخبيرة المستقلة وبتحديث مجموعة المبادئ المتعلقة بحماية حقوق الإنسان وتعزيزها من خلال مكافحة الإفلات من العقاب (E/CN.4/2005/102 وAdd.1) باعتبارها مبدأ توجيهياً يرمي إلى مساعدة الدول في وضع تدابير فعالة لمكافحة الإفلات من العقاب؛

Mr. Decaux referred to the excellent work that Louis Joinet had done on the issue of impunity, and in particular the " Set of principles for the protection and promotion of human rights through action to combat impunity " that were contained in the annex to his report to the Sub-Commission (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1997/20/Rev.1).

12- تطلب إلى الأمين العام أن يلتمس آراء الحكومات والمنظمات الحكومية الدولية والمنظمات غير الحكومية بشأن " مجموعة المبادئ المتعلقة بحماية حقوق الإنسان وتعزيزها من خلال مكافحة الإفلات من العقاب " (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1997/20/Rev.1، المرفق الثاني) وبشأن متابعتها؛

12. Requests the SecretaryGeneral to seek the views of Governments and intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations on the Set of principles for the protection and promotion of human rights through action to combat impunity (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1997/20/Rev.1, annex II) and on the followup thereto;
