In order to exercise the option, staff members are required to notify their executive/administrative offices two months prior to the anticipated travel of their planned itinerary and their interest in availing themselves of the lump-sum option.

١٣ - ولم تكن البيانات المجمعة في المقر أثناء المرحلة اﻷولية من تنفيذ خيار المبلغ اﻹجمالي كافية لتحديد قابلية استمرار هذا الخيار في المدى الطويل، ولا فوائده بالنسبة للمنظمة، نظرا ﻷن البيانات المتعلقة بفترة التسعة أشهر اﻷولى كانت ناقصة.

54. In the meantime, bearing in mind the expiration of the latest extension of the lump-sum option on 31 December 1995, as reported to the General Assembly above, the Secretary-General has extended the application of the lump-sum option for travel by air on home leave, education grant and family visit travel without any changes, until such time as the General Assembly takes a final decision.
٥٤ - وفي الوقت نفسه، ومع مراعاة انتهاء آخر تمديد لخيار المبلغ اﻹجمالي في ٣١ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٥، كما أبلغت الجمعية أعلاه، قام اﻷمين العام بتمديد فترة تطبيق خيار المبلغ اﻹجمالي بالنسبة للسفر الجوي في إجازة زيارة الوطن وزيارة اﻷسرة، وفي إطار منحة التعليم، بدون أي تغيير إلى أن تتخذ الجمعية العامة قرارا نهائيا في هذا الشأن.
