Following its appointment on 1 April 2013, the Panel of Experts spent more than five and a half months investigating the situation on the ground in Darfur and Khartoum to determine whether the parties to the conflict were implementing the relevant United Nations resolutions.

72. It was of concern, however, that the Special Rapporteur received reports that some local lawyers and activists in Darfur and Khartoum who participated in civil society functions such as attending legal training courses or workshops were subjected to harassment by national security officials.
72- غير أن المقررة الخاصة أعربت عن قلقها إزاء ما وردها من تقارير تفيد بأن بعض المحامين والنشطين المحليين في دارفور والخرطوم الذين شاركوا في بعض الأنشطة التي ينظمها المجتمع المدني، كحضور الدورات التدريبية أو حلقات العمل ذات الصلة بالمجالات القانونية، قد تعرضوا للمضايقة من جانب موظفي إدارة الأمن الوطني.

29. A section of the Advisory Council on Human Rights known as the Criminal Justice Section was set up and has run workshops in Darfur and Khartoum for judges, deputy public prosecutors and police officers on the rights of detainees. A simplified manual will be prepared on the guiding principles of Sudanese law, in particular of the Code of Criminal Procedures, the Criminal Code, the Armed Forces Act and the Police Act.
29- وقد تم إنشاء شعبة في المجلس الاستشاري لحقوق الإنسان تسمى شعبة العدالة الجنائية التي قامت بتنظيم الورش في دارفور والخرطوم للقضاة ووكلاء النيابة ورجال الشرطة حول حقوق المحتجزين، كما ستقوم بإعداد دليل مبسط عن الموجهات الواردة في القوانين السودانية، خاصة قانون الإجراءات الجنائية والعقوبات وقانون القوات المسلحة وقانون الشرطة.
