The Special Rapporteur remains very concerned about acts of reprisal and harassment and about the criminalization of human rights defenders in this context, and urges Member States to ensure that such unacceptable acts are properly investigated, that perpetrators are brought to justice and that any legislation that criminalizes activities carried out in defence of human rights through cooperation with international mechanisms is repealed.
