25. Mr. Dausá (Cuba), responding to a suggestion by Mr. Islam (Pakistan), said that a new paragraph should be added at the end of draft resolution A/C.4/53/L.18 that would read: “Requests the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session on the implementation of the present resolution”.
٢٥ - السيد دوسا )كوبا(: قال، ردا على اقتراح من جانب السيد إسلام )باكستان(، أنه ينبغي أن تضاف فقرة جديدة في نهاية مشروع القرار A/C.4/53/L.18 يكون نصها كما يلي: " تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين بشأن تنفيذ هذا القرار " .

It is also submitted in pursuance of Assembly resolution 53/78 F of 4 December 1998, entitled “United Nations regional centres for peace and disarmament”, by which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to provide all necessary support, within existing resources, to the regional centres in carrying out their programmes of activities and to report to the Assembly at its fifty-fourth session on the implementation of the resolution.
ويُقدم هذا التقرير كذلك عملا بقرار الجمعية العامة رقم ٥٣/٧٨ واو المؤرخ ٤ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨ والمعنون " مراكز اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹقليمية للسلم ونزع السلاح؛ الذي طلبت فيه الجمعية العامة من اﻷمين العام أن يقدم كل الدعم الضروري، في حدود الموارد القائمة، إلى المراكز اﻹقليمية في اضطلاعها ببرامج أنشطتها، وأن يقدم تقريرا إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين بشأن تنفيذ ذلك القرار.
