٥ - في الساعة ٣٠/١٦ من يوم ١٧/١/١٩٩٤ قامت دورية كويتية باختطاف المواطنين العراقيين صالح موسى شرير ورمضان خلف عندما كانا يقومان بمساعدة أحد المواطنين العراقيين في إخلاء بعض المواد من مزرعته.

It subsequently transpired that gale-force winds in the area in question had swept the boat to a point close to Kuwaiti territorial waters where it was approached and seized by an armed Kuwaiti patrol craft.
وتبين فيما بعد أن هبوب رياح قوية في المنطقة أدت إلى انجراف الزورق قرب المياه اﻹقليمية الكويتية حيث حضرت إليهم دورية كويتية مسلحة وألقت القبض عليهم وتم نقلهم بواسطة طراد إلى أحد اﻷماكن التي يجهلونها، وتم التحقيق معهم وضربهم بشدة وتعذيبهم وسؤالهم عن الوضع داخل العراق والتهجم عليه.

1. On 6 April 1999, a Kuwaiti patrol intercepted Iraqi craft No. 172 inside Iraqi territorial waters and proceeded to search it and to confiscate the fishing permits of the 12 fishermen on board.
١ - في يوم ٦ نيسان/أبريل ٩٩٩١ تعرضت دورية كويتية إلى اللنج العراقي المرقم )٢٧١( داخل المياه اﻹقليمية العراقية وقامت بتفتيشه ومصادرة هويات الصيد العائدة للبحارة وعددهم )٢١(.

2. On the same day, a Kuwaiti patrol intercepted the Iraqi craft Al-Ayyubi (No. 24/Basrah) inside Iraqi territorial waters and proceeded to search it and to confiscate the fishing permits of the 12 fishermen on board.

3. On the same day, the Iraqi craft Al-Taysir (No. 37/Basrah) was searched by a Kuwaiti patrol inside Iraqi territorial waters and the fishing permits of the seven fishermen on board were confiscated.

4. On the same day, a Kuwaiti patrol searched the Iraqi craft Nisrin (No. 135/Basrah) inside Iraqi territorial waters and the fishing permits of the seven fishermen on board were confiscated.

5. On 7 April 1999, the Iraqi craft Qadam al-Khayr (No. 7/Basrah) was searched by a Kuwaiti patrol inside Iraqi territorial waters and the fishing permits of the 11 fishermen on board were confiscated.
٥ - في يوم ٧ نيسان/أبريل ٩٩٩١ تعرض اللنج العراقي )قدم الخير( المرقم )٧ بصرة( إلى عملية تفتيش من قبل دورية كويتية داخل المياه اﻹقليمية العراقية وتمت مصادرة هويات الصيد العائدة للبحارة وعددهم )١١(.

On instructions from my Government, I have the honour to inform you that while an Iraqi police patrol was carrying out its normal duties in the Kharanj area in the Iraqi sector of the demilitarized zone, a Kuwaiti patrol began firing heavily on, and then abducted, the Iraqi patrol, which was made up of a police officer, two constables and a civilian.

Iraq has also neglected to mention that such cases are dealt with by the Kuwaiti side in a manner which bears no relationship to prisoners or detainees, such as was the case when Kuwait, on 5 May, returned seven Iraqi children spotted the previous day by a Kuwaiti patrol on the Kuwaiti side of the demilitarized zone between Umm Qasr and Safwan.

6. At 2200 hours on 27 May 1993, a Kuwaiti patrol abducted the Iraqi farmers Adnan Jabbar Abd Allah, Basim Jabbar Abd Allah, Ibrahim Abd al-Muhsin Jabbar and Matar Musa Sharid while they were at their farm in the boundary zone.

3. At 1400 hours on 29 January 2003, two Kuwaiti patrol boats attacked an Iraqi-registered fishing boat (2474-Basra) sailing in the Khawr Abdullah area near buoy No. 11. The fishing permits of the nine persons on board were confiscated and then thrown into the sea.

At 1420 hours on Monday, 2 May 1994, as a Kuwaiti patrol was passing between border markers 91 and 92, it noted the footprints of infiltrators.

At 1530 hours on 19 October 1997 three Kuwaiti patrol boats equipped with automatic weapons and each having four armed men on board opened fire on Iraqi coastguard vessels which were in the demilitarized zone.

2. On 6 April 1999 a Kuwaiti patrol in the Khawr Abd Allah area inside Iraqi territorial waters intercepted Iraqi craft No. 14/Basrah, belonging to Abd al-Amir Khudayr Sultan, and took away the fishing permits of the 13 fishermen present as well as the customs carnet.
٢ - في يوم ٦ نيسان/أبريل ١٩٩٩ تعرضت دورية كويتية في منطقة خور عبد الله داخل المياه اﻹقليمية العراقية الى اللنش العراقي المرقم )١٤/بصرة( والعائد للمواطن )عبد اﻷمير خضير سلطان( وقامت بأخذ هويات الصيد العائدة للبحارة الموجودين فيه وعددهم )١٣( مع دفتر الخروجية الجمركي.

3. On 6 April 1999 a Kuwaiti patrol in the area of the buoys intercepted the Iraqi craft Nisrin (No. 135/Basrah), with Hafiz Abbas Jum`ah at the wheel, while it was engaged in fishing. The patrol crew searched the craft and took the fishing permits belonging to the eight fishermen.
٣ - في يوم ٦ نيسان/أبريل ١٩٩٩ تعرضت دورية كويتية في منطقة البويات الى اللنش العراقي المرقم )١٣٥/بصرة( والمسمى نسرين والذين كان يقوده المواطن )حافظ عباس جمعه( أثناء قيامه بعملية الصيد وقام أفراد الدورية بتفتيش اللنش المذكور وأخذ هويات الصيد العائدة للبحارة وعددهم )٧(.

At 1600 hours on 4 May 1999 a Kuwaiti patrol fired several shots at the Iraqi citizen Sabah Muhammad Ya`qub as he was fishing inside Iraqi territorial waters, hitting him in the head and other parts of the body. The boat carrying Mr. Ya`qub was also hit by several rounds.
في الساعة )١٦٠٠( من يوم ٤ أيار/ مايو ١٩٩٩ تعرض المواطن العراقي )صباح محمد يعقوب( إلى عدة إطلاقات نارية من دورية كويتية أثناء ممارسته لصيد اﻷسماك داخل المياه اﻹقليمية العراقية، وقد أصيب المواطن المذكور في رأسه وأنحاء من جسمه كما تعرض اللنج الذي كان يستقله إلى عدة إطلاقات نارية.

At 1700 hours on 8 October 1994, a Kuwaiti patrol riding in a pick-up fired from the other shore at an Iraqi fishing boat with two Iraqi nationals aboard, namely Radi Marwan Ghaydan and Tawfiq Mahmud Farid, who were fishing in Iraqi territorial waters. Tawfiq Mahmud Farid, who suffered three bullet wounds, fell into the sea and died.
ففي الساعة ٠٠/١٧ من يوم ٨ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩٤ قامت دورية كويتية محمولة على سيارة نوع بيكب من الضفة الثانية بإطلاق النار على زورق صيد عراقي وعلى متنه مواطنين عراقيين هما راضي مروان غيدان، وتوفيق محمود فريد عندما كانا يمارسان الصيد في المياه اﻹقليمية العراقية وإصابة المواطن توفيق محمود فريد بثلاث إطلاقات أدت الى سقوطه في البحر ووفاته.

On the night of 5/6 April 1999 a Kuwaiti patrol in the Khawr Abd Allah area near Mina'al-Bakr intercepted Iraqi craft No. 29/Basrah, with Nuri Ibrahim Ahmad at the wheel, while it was engaged in fishing. The patrol crew searched the craft, confiscated the compass and took away the fishing permits belonging to the nine fishermen on board.
١ - في ليلة ٥-٦ نيسان/أبريل ١٩٩٩ تعرضت دورية كويتية في منطقة خور عبد الله قرب ميناء البكر الى اللنش العراقي المرقم )٢٩/بصرة( والذي يقوده المواطن )نوري ابراهيم أحمد( أثناء قيامه بعملية الصيد وقام أفراد الدورية بتفتيش اللنش ومصادرة البوصلة وأخذ هويات الصيد العائدة للبحارة وعددهم )٩( وإطلاق عيار ناري باتجاه اللنش مما أدى الى كسر زجاج غرفة القيادة.
