Election must be by secret ballot in the Assembly of States Parties, and it was fundamental that nothing in the Statute could in any way affect the right of each State Party to make its own choice as to which candidate it would vote for.
ويجب أن يكون الانتخاب بالاقتراع السري في جمعية الدول اﻷطراف ، ومن اﻷمور اﻷساسية ألا يكون في النظام اﻷساسي شيء يؤثر بأي طريقة على حق كل دولة طرف في أن تتخذ اختيارها بالنسبة للمرشح الذي تدلي بصوتها من أجله .

This requirement shall be without prejudice to the right of a State Party to require that such requests and communications be addressed to it through diplomatic channels and, in urgent circumstances, where the States Parties agree, through the International Criminal Police Organization, if possible.
ولا يمس هذا الشرط حق أية دولة طرف في أن تشترط توجيه مثل هذه الطلبات والمراسلات إليها عبر القنوات الدبلوماسية، وفي الحالات العاجلة، وحيثما تتفق الدولتان الطرفان المعنيتان، عن طريق المنظمة الدولية للشرطة الجنائية، إن أمكن ذلك.

This requirement shall be without prejudice to the right of a State Party to require that such requests and communications be addressed to it through diplomatic channels and, in urgent circumstances, where the States Parties agree, through the International Criminal Police Organization, if possible.

8. The Treaty of Raratonga does not interfere with the right of each State Party to decide for itself whether to allow visits by foreign ships and aircraft to its ports and airfields.
8 - ولا تتعارض معاهدة راروتونغا مع حق كل دولة طرف في أن تقرر لنفسها ما إذا كانت تسمح للسفن والطائرات الأجنبية بزيارة موانئها ومطاراتها أم لا.

Article 79 specifically states that “[N]othing in the present Convention shall affect the right of each State Party to establish the criteria governing admission of migrant workers and members of their families.”
وتنص المادة 79 على وجه التحديد على أنه " ليس في هذه الاتفاقية ما يمس حق كل دولة طرف في أن تحدد المعايير المنظمة لدخول العمال المهاجرين وأفراد أسرهم " .

The provisions of the present Protocol do not affect the obligations of States Parties to the four Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949 and their Additional Protocols of 8 June 1977, or the possibility for any State Party to authorize the International Committee of the Red Cross to visit places of detention in situations not covered by international humanitarian law.
٤- لا تؤثر أحكام هذا البروتوكول على التزامات الدول اﻷطراف في اتفاقيات جنيف اﻷربع المؤرخة في ٢١ آب/أغسطس ٩٤٩١ وبروتوكوليها الاضافيين المؤرخين في ٨ حزيران/يونيه ٧٧٩١، ولا على حق أي دولة طرف في أن تأذن للجنة الدولية للصليب اﻷحمر بزيارة أماكن الاحتجاز في الحالات غير المشمولة بالقانون اﻹنساني الدولي.

ولا يخل هذا الشرط بحق أي دولة طرف في أن تشترط توجيه مثل هذه الطلبات والمراسلات إليها عن طريق القنوات الدبلوماسية ، وفي الظروف العاجلة ، حين توافق اﻷطراف ، عن طريق قنوات المنظمة الدولية للشرطة الجنائية )الانتربول( إذا أمكن ذلك .
