13. At its fifth session, the Forum welcomed the Forum on Biodiversity initiative to organize an international expert seminar.

31. Initiatives led by countries, organizations and major groups in the form of international expert meetings in support of the work of the Forum have made important and extremely significant contributions.

61. In connection with the same subject, UNESCO and the Marangapoulos Foundation for Human Rights organized an international expert seminar on the prevention of discrimination against immigrants, refugees and persons belonging to minorities (Greece, 13-14 May 1994).

An international expert seminar on best practices in the implementation of the Special Rapporteur's recommendations was held, under the auspices of the Government agency Rights and Democracy, the International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA) and other civil-society organizations, in Montreal from 5 to 7 October 2006.

95. The Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues welcomes the proposal made by the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in the report on its third session, which encourages OHCHR to hold an international expert seminar on truth and reconciliation processes.

One possible means of solving this global problem is the creation of an International commission of experts under the auspices of the United Nations, which would initiate projects and make recommendations.
