Belize therefore endorses the General Assembly's request for the establishment of an effective, transparent, accountable and regular inter-agency coordinating mechanism for issues relating to oceans and seas within the United Nations system.

It would be useful to examine in more detail how the General Assembly debate can be used more effectively to achieve an overview of issues relating to oceans and seas so that more coordinated and integrated action can be undertaken.
ومن المفيد إجراء دراسة أكثر تفصيلا لكيفية الاستفادة من مناقشات الجمعية العامة بقدر أكبر من الفعالية من أجل اﻹحاطة الشاملة بالمسائل ذات الصلة بالمحيطات والبحار حتى يمكن زيادة التنسيق والتكامل فيما يتخذ من إجراءات.

It was also emphasized that UN-Oceans had been established as an inter-agency coordinating mechanism for issues relating to oceans and seas within the United Nations system to function within the mandate set out in General Assembly resolution 58/240.
كما تم التأكيد على أن UN-Oceans قد شكلت كآلية تنسيق مشتركة بين الوكالات مختصة بالمسائل ذات الصلة بالمحيطات والبحار داخل منظومة الأمم المتحدة لتعمل في إطار ولايتها على النحو الوارد في قرار الجمعية العامة 58/240.
