It was also decided that the President of the Meeting of States Parties should address a letter to the Secretary-General, requesting him to act as depositary of the Agreement, which would remain open for signature for 24 months at United Nations Headquarters as from 1 July 1997.

٣ - وفي ٢٤ أيار/مايو ١٩٩٤ كذلك، وجه اﻷمين العام رسالة الى اﻷمين العام لمنظمة الوحدة اﻷفريقية يلفت فيها انتباهه الى الفقرة ٥ من قرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/٥٦ ويطلب تزويده بمعلومات عن أي إجراء اتخذته منظمة الوحدة اﻷفريقية في البحث عن حل سلمي للمشكلة عن طريق التفاوض.

15. On 15 October 1993, President Aristide addressed a letter to the Secretary-General, 6/ drawing his attention to the assassination of the Minister of Justice on 14 October and calling for all necessary measures to strengthen the provisions of Security Council resolution 873 (1993).
١٥ - وفي ١٥ تشرين اﻷول/اكتوبر ١٩٩٣، وجه الرئيس اريستيد رسالة الى اﻷمين العام)٦( استرعى فيها انتباهه الى اغتيال وزير العدل يوم ١٤ تشرين اﻷول/اكتوبر، ودعا فيها الى اتخاذ التدابير اللازمة لتعزيز أحكام قرار مجلس اﻷمن ٨٧٣ )١٩٩٣(.

In that connection, the Committee also requested its Chairman to send a letter to the Secretary-General bringing to his attention the working paper and its relevance to the observations and recommendations contained in his report on the work of the Organization (A/47/1) and " An Agenda for Peace " (A/47/277) (see annex VI to the present report).
