وإذ تحيط علما كذلك بتوافق آراء شعب بورتوريكو على ضرورة إطلاق سراح سجناء بورتوريكو السياسيين الذين يقضون أحكاما بالسجن في الولايات المتحدة منذ ما يزيد على ستة وعشرين عاما لأسباب تتصل بالكفاح من أجل استقلال بورتوريكو، فضلا عن أولئك المسجونين لأسباب تتعلق بالكفاح من أجل السلام في بييكيس،

Requests the President of the United States of America to release all Puerto Rican political prisoners serving sentences in United States prisons for over 26 years for cases relating to the struggle for the independence of Puerto Rico, as well as those serving sentences for cases relating to the Vieques Island peace struggle;

4. The draft resolution expressed concern about continued violent actions against Puerto Rican independence fighters, called once more for the release of Puerto Rican political prisoners held in United States prisons, and requested the General Assembly to consider the question of Puerto Rico comprehensively in all its aspects.
4 - وأضاف أن مشروع المقرر قد أعرب عن القلق إزاء استمرار أعمال العنف التي تعرض لها مواطنون مطالبون بالاستقلال، ودعا مرة أخرى إلى إطلاق سراح جميع سجناء بورتوريكو السياسيين الذين ما زالوا في سجون الولايات المتحدة، وطلب إلى الجمعية العامة النظر نظراً شاملاً في مسألة بورتوريكو ومن جميع جوانبها.

The draft resolution again stressed the urgent need for the United States of America to lay the groundwork for the full implementation of General Assembly resolution 1514 (XV). It also called on the President of the United States to release the three Puerto Rican political prisoners who were serving sentences in United States prisons and requested the General Assembly to consider the question of Puerto Rico comprehensively in all its aspects.
وقد أكد مشروع القرار من جديد الحاجة الملحة إلى أن تضع الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية الأساس للتنفيذ الكامل لقرار الجمعية العامة 1514 (د-15). كما دعا رئيس الولايات المتحدة إلى إطلاق سراح سجناء بورتوريكو السياسيين الثلاثة الذين يقضون فترات عقوبة في سجون الولايات المتحدة، وطلب من الجمعية العامة النظر الشامل في مسألة بورتوريكو من جميع جوانبها.
