At the same time, in contrast to the usual propaganda tricks of official Yerevan aimed at misleading the international community as to Armenia's role in the war, President Sargsyan once again admitted his and his armed forces' direct responsibility for the illegal use of force against Azerbaijan, occupying its territories and committing the most serious international crimes in the course of the aggression.

President Sargsyan disregards the simple fact that, unlike Armenia, which has implemented the total ethnic cleansing of both its own territory and the occupied territories of Azerbaijan of all non-Armenians and thus succeeded in creating a uniquely monoethnic culture in those areas, Azerbaijan has preserved its ethnic and cultural diversity to the present day.
فالرئيس سرغسيان يتجاهل الواقع الجلي الذي يشهد أن أذربيجان حافظت على تنوعها العرقي والثقافي إلى يومنا هذا، بخلاف أرمينيا التي مارست التطهير العرقي الكامل لكل من لا ينتمي إلى الأرمن في كل من أراضيها والأراضي الأذربيجانية المحتلة، فأفلحت بذلك في الحصول على الثقافة الوحيدة في هذه المناطق التي تنتمي إلى طائفة عرقية واحدة.

On 16 October 2010, at a meeting with journalists from the Armenian diaspora, President Sargsyan, referring to the results of some " genetic " study, stated that " as a nation, Armenia has been around for the last 8,000 years " .

In his welcoming address, President Sargsyan claimed that the subordinate separatist entity illegally established by Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan is no less than " a full-fledged State ... that embodies the ideals of freedom, sovereignty and democracy ... " .
وقد زعم الرئيس سرغسيان في الكلمة الترحيبية التي ألقاها، أن الكيان الانفصالي التابع الذي أنشأته أرمينيا بصورة غير مشروعة في الأراضي المحتلة في أذربيجان لا يقل عن " دولة كاملة ... تجسد المثل العليا للحرية والسيادة والديمقراطية ... " .

It has been reported that four conscripts (Levon Esayan, Nerses Galoyan, Narek Saakyan and Never Sargsyan) were killed and four other conscripts (Sarkis Melkumyan, Khachik Aleksanyanm, Masis Grigoryan and Manvel Azroyan) were wounded as a result of non-combat violence and exchange of fire between Armenian militaries.
