Today, Friday 12 April 2013, H.E. the President of the Republic of the Sudan, Mr. Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir, led a high-level delegation on an official visit to the Republic of South Sudan at the kind invitation of H.E. General Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan.
قام السيد رئيس جمهورية السودان فخامة المشير عمر حسن أحمد البشير بزيارة رسمية إلى جمهورية جنوب السودان اليوم الجمعة 12 نيسان/أبريل 2013 على رأس وفد رفيع المستوى تلبية لدعوة كريمة من فخامة الفريق أول سلفا كير ميارديت رئيس جمهورية جنوب السودان.

3 September 2013 In response to a kind invitation by H.E. Omer Hassan Ahmed al-Bashir, President of the Republic of the Sudan, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, paid an official visit to the Sudan accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation during the period 3 and 4 September 2013.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, made her first visit to South Sudan from 8 to 12 May, where she met President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Government of the Republic of South Sudan officials to discuss protection of civilians and human rights issues, including inter-communal violence in Jonglei.

The final communiqué includes, inter alia, the basic principles that the two parties agreed upon in order to build permanent strategic relations of good-neighbourliness.
