Mr. Schlesinger (Austria), speaking on behalf of the European Union, the associated countries Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, and, in addition, Iceland and Norway, said that the JIU report made a useful contribution to the debate on the respective roles of internal and external oversight bodies and on their cooperation and coordination.
