Pursuant to rule 15 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the Secretary-General wishes to report that he has received a letter dated 10 February 1998 from the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China stating that Mr. Shen Guofang has been appointed deputy representative of China on the Security Council.
عملا بالمادة ١٥ من النظام الداخلي المؤقت لمجلس اﻷمن، يود اﻷمين العام أن يفيد بأنه تلقى رسالة مؤرخة ١٠ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٨ من وزير خارجية جمهورية الصين الشعبية يبلغه فيها بتعيين السيد شين غوفانغ نائبا لممثل الصين في مجلس اﻷمن.

31. Mr. Shen Guofang (China) said that United Nations peacekeeping activities had contributed significantly to the peaceful settlement of regional conflicts and international disputes.
٣١ - السيد شين غوفانغ )الصين(: قال إن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة لحفظ السلام أسهمت إلى حد بعيد في تسوية المنازعات اﻹقليمية والخلافات الدولية بالطرق السلمية.

Mr. Shen Guofang (China) said that the developing countries, which had been unable to benefit from globalization, called on the international community to help them to solve their problems in the interests of humanity as a whole and had high hopes for the international intergovernmental forum on financing for development.
٣٨ - السيد شين غوفانغ )الصين(: قال إن البلدان النامية، التي خرج عن مقدورها الاستفادة من العولمة، تطلب من المجتمع الدولي أن يساعدها على حل مشاكلها لما فيه صالح البشرية في مجموعها، وإن تلك البلدان تعقد آمالا كبيرة على المحفل الحكومي الدولي الذي سينظر في موضوع تمويل التنمية.
