As of April 2013, there were 1,037,554 Somali refugees in the region, hosted mainly in Kenya, Yemen, Egypt, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, the United Republic of Tanzania and Uganda, as well as nearly 1.1 million internally displaced Somalis, mostly in the southern and central parts of the country.[62]
