In the same resolution, the Council requested the Secretary-General to report to it on the establishment of the Commission, and further requested him, within three months from the establishment of the Commission, to submit an interim report on the conclusions of the Commission and, as soon as possible thereafter, to submit a final report containing its recommendations.

By decision 1993/322, the Council requested the Secretary-General to provide a brief report to the General Assembly in early 1994, listing the full range of intergovernmental and inter-agency committees within the United Nations system currently addressing technology transfer and noting the mechanisms for coordination among them.

In the same resolution, the Council requested the Secretary-General to seek comments from Member States, relevant intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations, as well as the institutes comprising the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme network, on the preliminary draft, contained in the annex to the resolution, including the advisability of elaborating such an instrument.
