Objective of the Organization: To increase international cooperation among Member States and international entities in the conduct of space activities for peaceful purposes and the use of space science and technology and their applications towards achieving internationally agreed sustainable development goals.
هدف المنظمة: زيادة التعاون الدولي بين الدول الأعضاء والهيئات الدولية في الاضطلاع بالأنشطة الفضائية للأغراض السلمية واستعمال علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء وتطبيقاتهما في سبيل تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة المتفق عليها دوليا.

The Office will strengthen its efforts to create synergy among the various entities of the United Nations system so as to increase awareness on the part of decision makers of the usefulness of space science and technology and their applications in implementing the recommendations of global conferences that have addressed various issues related to social, economic and cultural development.
وسيعزز المكتب جهوده الرامية إلى تحقيق التداؤب بين مختلف كيانات منظومة الأمم المتحدة، سعيا لزيادة وعي صانعي القرار بفائدة علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء وتطبيقاتهما في تنفيذ توصيات المؤتمرات العالمية التي تناولت قضايا مختلفة متصلة بالتنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والثقافية.

Support was expressed for the programme, particularly the importance of strengthening the capacity of developing countries in the use and applications of space science and technology for sustainable development and increasing awareness of decision makers of the benefits of space science and technology and their applications in addressing societal needs for sustainable development.
وأُعرب عن الدعم للبرنامج، ولا سيما أهمية تعزيز قدرات البلدان النامية في مجال استخدام علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء وتطبيقاتهما وزيادة وعي أصحاب القرار بمنافع علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء وتطبيقاتهما في معالجة الاحتياجات المجتمعية لأغراض التنمية المستدامة.

The Committee agreed that international and national space-related organizations, including non-governmental organizations, should promote awareness of the role of space science and technology and their applications in support of achieving the internationally agreed development goals and should be invited to provide the Committee with information on their efforts in that regard.
291- كما اتفقت اللجنة على أنه ينبغي للمنظمات الدولية والوطنية ذات الصلة بالفضاء، بما فيها المنظمات غير الحكومية، أن تعمل على الارتقاء بالوعي بدور علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء وتطبيقاتهما في دعم تحقيق الأهداف الانمائية المتفق عليها دوليا، وأن تُدعى إلى تزويد اللجنة بالمعلومات عن جهودها في ذلك الشأن.

7. Requests the Committee to examine the contributions that could be made by space science and technology and their applications to one or more of the issues selected by the Commission on Sustainable Development as a thematic cluster and to provide substantive inputs for consideration by the Commission;
