In the judicial arena, central and local training sessions were held for juvenile court judges, Shariah court judges, prosecuting judges and staff of ministries and popular voluntary organizations to teach them about the contents of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and how to deal with children in a way that helps them to express their opinions and speak freely in front of others.

The Committee would like to suggest that further consideration be given to ways of encouraging the expression of views by children and those views being given due weight in the decision-making processes affecting their lives, in particular within school and the local community.

(b) Voluntary: Children should not be coerced into expressing views against their wishes and must be informed that they can cease involvement at any stage;
