1. The General Assembly, in section XI of its resolution 59/276 of 23 December 2004, requested the Secretary-General to provide a detailed proposal for a global operational framework for information and communications technology (ICT) security, business continuity and disaster recovery as outlined in his report on a strengthened and unified security management system for the United Nations (A/59/365 and Corr.1 and Add.1 and Add.1/Corr.1).

The table above displays the resource requirements for 2008/09 for the Office of Military Affairs for both the strengthening proposed in the Secretary-General's report on the comprehensive analysis of the Office (A/62/752) and already established capacity, as set out in his report on the support account budget (A/62/783).

28.
