54. The Special Committee recommends that contact between the Secretariat and Member States should be enhanced with a view to clarifying the military and civilian needs for the United Nations peace-keeping operations and such capabilities of Member States as could be made available for those operations.
٥٤ - وتوصي اللجنة الخاصة بتعزيز الاتصال بين اﻷمانة العامة والدول اﻷعضاء بغية توضيح الاحتياجات العسكرية والمدنية التي تتطلبها عمليات حفظ السلم التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة وما قد يكون لدى الدول اﻷعضاء من قدرات يمكن إتاحتها لهذه العمليات.

75. Mr. RATUNAVECA (Fiji) said that, in accordance with its responsibilities under the Charter and out of the conviction that the Organization must actively foster international peace and security, his country had contributed civilian and military personnel to seven United Nations peace-keeping operations.
٧٥ - السيد راتونافيكا )فيجي(: قال إن بلاده عمدت، وفقا لمسؤولياتها بموجب الميثاق واقتناعا منها بضرورة أن تعمل المنظمة جاهدة لتعزيز السلم واﻷمن الدوليين، الى المساهمة بأفراد مدنيين وعسكريين في سبع من عمليات حفظ السلم التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة.

113. The Special Committee urges all Member States in whose territory United Nations peace-keeping operations are conducted to provide, in accordance with relevant articles of the Charter and other instruments, comprehensive support to all United Nations peace-keeping operations personnel in fulfilling their functions, as well as to take all necessary measures to ensure respect for and guarantee the safety and security of those personnel.
١١٣ - تحث اللجنة الخاصة جميع الدول اﻷعضاء التي يُضطلع في أراضيها بعمليات لحفظ السلم تابعة لﻷمم المتحدة، على أن تقدم، وفقا للمواد ذات الصلة من الميثاق والصكوك اﻷخرى، الدعم الشامل لجميع أفراد عمليات حفظ السلم التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة لدى قيامهم بمهامهم، وأن تتخذ كذلك جميع التدابير الضرورية لكفالة الاحترام لهؤلاء اﻷفراد وضمان سلامتهم وأمنهم.

Work undertaken on a convention on the safety of United Nations peace-keeping personnel should be completed at the earliest date.
وينبغي، في أقرب وقت ممكن، استكمال العمل الذي بدأ ﻹبرام اتفاقية تتعلق بسلامة العاملين في عمليات حفظ السلم التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة.
