The present report on the work of the Board is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 38/183 O of 20 December 1983.

Recalling their concerns expressed in my previous report on the work of the Board (A/48/325), the members strongly recommended that the General Assembly fund the work of the centres at the rate of $50,000 each annually.

The regular briefings on the work of the Council provided by the Council presidency to non-members are another important measure intended to enhance transparency.
