The Workshop began with presentations on the legal framework for deep seabed polymetallic nodule exploration and the Authority's regulations and recommendations to ensure the effective protection of the marine environment from harmful effects that may arise from activities in the Area.
وبدأت حلقة العمل بتقديم عروض بشأن الإطار القانوني لاستكشاف العقيدات المؤلفة من عدة معادن في قاع البحار العميقة والنظم والتوصيات التي وضعتها السلطة لضمان توفير حماية فعالة للبيئة البحرية من الآثار الضارة التي قد تنشأ عن الأنشطة المضطلع بها في المنطقة.

1. The aim of these recommendations is to define the biological, chemical, geological and physical oceanographic information required to ensure the effective protection of the marine environment from harmful effects which may arise from activities in the Area.
