2. Improving exchanges of information on environmental issues between developed and developing countries
٢ - تحسين تبادل المعلومات عن المسائل البيئية بين البلدان المتقدمة النمو والبلدان النامية

It was a member of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and had been the first country to ratify the Aarhus Convention on providing citizens with information on environmental issues.

The report on this item was prepared mainly in response to the concern expressed by some ISAR experts that some transnational corporations which operate in host countries (developing) may not report comprehensively on environmental matters even though such matters may be reported in the home country (developed). It was found that this is indeed the situation.
