1. The first report of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) on regional statistics development in Asia and the Pacific, issued on 16 December 2008, was submitted to the Statistical Commission for consideration at its fortieth session, held in February 2009.
أولا - مقدمة 1 - قُدّم التقرير الأول للجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لآسيا والمحيط الهادئ عن تطوير الإحصاءات الإقليمية في آسيا والمحيط الهادئ، الصادر في 16 كانون الأول/ ديسمبر 2008() إلى اللجنة الإحصائية لتنظر فيه في دورتها الأربعين التي عُقدت في شباط/ فبراير 2009.

(a) Welcomed the report of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia on regional statistical development in Western Asia;
(أ) رحبت بتقرير اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغربي آسيا عن تطوير الإحصاءات الإقليمية في غربي آسيا()؛

(a) Welcomed the comprehensive report of the Economic Commission for Africa on regional statistical development in Africa, and thanked the Commission for the preparation of the report;
(أ) رحبت بالتقرير الشامل الذي أعدته اللجنة الاقتصادية لأفريقيا عن تطوير الإحصاءات الإقليمية في أفريقيا()، وشكرت اللجنة لإعداد هذا التقرير؛

(g) Encouraged the Bureau and secretariat of the Commission to reflect upon the objective, format, content and placement in the agenda of future reports on regional statistical development;
