Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 57/282 of 20 December 2002, the Secretary-General has the honour to transmit for the attention of the Assembly the attached report, conveyed to him by the Under-Secretary-General for Internal Oversight Services, on strengthening the investigation functions in the United Nations.
