The chairpersons noted that while the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination does not at present have any backlog of pending communications, the Committee against Torture is experiencing a constant growth in the number of communications received and is concerned that appropriate measures be taken to ensure that a serious backlog does not develop in the near future.
٥٤ - ولاحظ رؤساء الهيئات أنه بينما لا توجد حاليا لدى اللجنة المعنية بالقضاء على التمييز العنصري أي متأخرات من الرسائل التي لم يتم البت فيها، فإن لجنة مناهضة التعذيب تشهد زيادة مطردة في عدد الرسائل الواردة وأنه يشغلها أمر اتخاذ التدابير الملائمة لضمان ألا تتراكم أعمال متأخرة بصورة خطيرة في المستقبل القريب.
