10. On 14 January 2009, the Secretary-General appointed Christopher Ross of the United States as his Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, replacing Peter van Walsum.
10 - وفي 14 كانون الثاني/يناير 2009، عيّن الأمين العام كريستوفر روس من الولايات المتحدة مبعوثا شخصيا له إلى الصحراء الغربية، ليحل محل بيتر فان والسوم.

Under that resolution the Council, inter alia, welcomed the appointment of the Secretary-General's Personal Envoy on Western Sahara, Peter van Walsum, noting that he had recently completed consultations in the region and requested the Secretary-General to provide a report on the situation in Western Sahara before the end of the mandate.
