في ٣٠ حزيران/يونيه ٨٩٩١، سيخلي السيد غوستاف فايسل منصبه كنائب للممثل الخاص ورئيس للبعثة في قبرص.

Mr. Feissel underlined that while a comprehensive settlement of the security issues would be part of an overall agreement, some modest first steps would be most helpful, not least at a time when acrimonious exchanges both on the island and between Greece and Turkey were undermining the overall atmosphere.
وأكد السيد فايسل على أنه بالرغم من أن التسوية الشاملة للقضايا اﻷمنية ستشكل جزءا من الاتفاق العام، فإن اتخاذ بعض الخطوات اﻷولية المعتدلة سيساعد للغاية، على اﻷقل في وقت تجري فيه مبادلات قاسية في الجزيرة، وكذلك بين اليونان وتركيا تعمل على تقويض الجو العام.

Mr. Feissel recalled that the leaders of the two communities had on various separate occasions expressed the same position on a number of important matters related to security.
وأشار السيد فايسل إلى أن زعيمي الطائفتين قد أعربا في مناسبات مختلفة ومنفصلة عن نفس الموقف بشأن عدد من المسائل الهامة ذات الصلة باﻷمن.

The two leaders agreed that Mr. Feissel would follow the meeting with separate discussions with each of them in the hope of preparing the ground for an agreed joint statement.
واتفق الزعيمان على أن يتابع السيد فايسل هذا الاجتماع بإجراء مداولات منفصلة مع كل منهما على أمل أن تمهد الطريق ﻹصدار بيان مشترك متفق عليه.

I wish also to reaffirm what I told Mr. Feissel before leaving for New York, that is, that I am ready to discuss the modalities regarding the implementation of the confidence-building measures and of course the solution of the Cyprus problem.
كما أود أن أؤكد مجددا أنني أبلغت السيد فايسل قبل سفره إلى نيويورك أنني على استعداد لمناقشة الطرائق المتعلقة بتنفيذ تدابير بناء الثقة، والمتعلقة بالطبع بحل مشكلة قبرص.

On 30 September, the leader of the Greek Cypriot community informed Mr. Feissel that his side had completed its work and was ready to proceed as agreed on 31 July.
وفي ٣٠ أيلول/سبتمبر، أبلغ زعيم طائفة القبارصة اليونانيين السيد فايسل بأن جانبه قد انتهى من أعماله وبأنه على استعداد للمضي في الترتيبات على نحو ما جرى الاتفاق عليه في ٣١ تموز/يوليه.

28. Mr. Diego Cordovez remained my Special Adviser on Cyprus. Mr. Gustave Feissel continued as my Deputy Special Representative and Chief of Mission of the United Nations operation in Cyprus.
٢٨ - ولا يزال السيد اييغو كوردوفيز ممثلي الخاص المعني بقبرص، ولا يزال السيد غوستاف فايسل نائب ممثلــي الخاص ورئيس بعثــة عملية اﻷمم المتحــدة في قبرص، وســوف يتخلى عن منصبه في ٣٠ حزيران/يونيــه ١٩٩٨.

36. In conclusion, I wish to express my warm appreciation to my Deputy Special Representative and Chief of Mission in Cyprus, Mr. Gustave Feissel, upon his retirement at the end of June after a long and distinguished career in the service of the United Nations.
٣٦ - وختاما، أود أن أعرب عن تقديري الصادق لنائب ممثلي الخاص، رئيس البعثة في قبرص السيد غوستاف فايسل بمناسبة تقاعده في آخر حزيران/يونيه بعد سنوات طويلة من العمل المتميز قضاها في خدمة اﻷمم المتحدة.

The first informal meeting of the two leaders at Mr. Feissel's residence took place on 18 October.
وعقـــد الاجتمــاع غير الرسمي اﻷول للزعيمين في مقر اقامة السيد فايسل في ١٨ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر .

I had requested Mr. Feissel to give a copy of the talking points of our meeting of 31 October 1994 to Mr. Clerides.
وقد طلبت الى السيد فايسل أن يعطي السيد كليريدس نسخة من نقاط المحادثة التي أثيرت في اجتماعنا المعقود في ٣١ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩٤.

٩٢ - ويواصل السيد هان سونغ - جو عمله بوصفه ممثلي الخاص في قبرص، ويواصل السيد غوستاف فايسل عمله بوصفه نائب ممثلي الخاص وبوصفه رئيسا لبعثة عملية اﻷمم المتحدة في قبرص، ويواصل العميد أهتـي ت. ب.

I have requested Mr. Feissel and Brigadier-General Vartiainen to make renewed and vigorous efforts to reach agreements with the military authorities on both sides to implement the measures recommended by the Security Council to reduce tension along the cease-fire lines.
وقد طلبت إلى السيد فايسل والعميد ناريتينن بذل جهود مجددة وقوية للتوصل إلى اتفاقات مع السلطات العسكرية في الجانبين لتنفيذ التدابير التي أوصى بها مجلس اﻷمن لتخفيف حدة التوتر على طول خطى وقف اطلاق النار.

Mr. Joe Clark continued as my Special Representative for Cyprus; Mr. Gustave Feissel continued as my Deputy Special Representative, resident in Cyprus, and as Chief of Mission when Mr. Clark was not on the island.
