6. Reports submitted to the meetings of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Tungsten

Attention is drawn to paragraph 62 of the report, whereby the Standing Committee recommended to the Trade and Development Board that it suspend the activities of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Tungsten until the Board could determine that there was adequate support to reinitiate it in the future.
ويُوجه الانتباه إلى الفقرة ٦٢ من التقرير، التي أوصت بموجبها اللجنة الدائمة مجلس التجارة والتنمية بأن يعلق أنشطة فريق الخبراء الحكومي الدولي المعني بالتنغستن إلى أن يتسني للمجلس تحديد أنه يوجد دعم كاف لبعثه من جديد في المستقبل.

55. The representative of the United States said that, for reasons beyond the control of the UNCTAD secretariat, the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Tungsten no longer performed its function of adding transparency to the tungsten market, and efforts to revive the Group had been unsuccessful.
٥٥- وقال ممثل الولايات المتحدة إن فريق الخبراء الحكومي الدولي المعني بالتنغستن لم يعد، ﻷسباب خارجة عن إرادة أمانة اﻷونكتاد، يؤدي وظيفته المتمثلة في إضفاء الشفافية على سوق التنغستن، فضلا عن كون الجهود المبذولة ﻹحياء الفريق لم توفق.

Under this item the Standing Committee will have before it the report of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Tungsten on its third session, held from 7-8 November 1993 (TD/B/CN.1/27 - TD/B/CN.1/TUNGSTEN/11).

In accordance with paragraph 7 of its terms of reference, at its first session the Standing Committee on Commodities decided to establish, as its subsidiary organs, the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Tungsten and the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Iron Ore.
٦١- قررت اللجنة الدائمة للسلع اﻷساسية في دورتها اﻷولى، عملاً بالفقرة ٧ من اختصاصاتها، أن تنشئ، كهيئتيها الفرعيتين، فريق الخبراء الحكومي الدولي المعني بالتنغستن وفريق الخبراء الحكومي الدولي المعني بركاز الحديد.

Tungsten the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Tungsten held three sessions (in December 1992, November 1993 and November 1994).

54. The Chairperson recalled that the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Tungsten had adopted a decision (TD/B/CN.1/27, para. 25) remitting " to the fourth session of the Standing Committee on Commodities the determination of the date for the fourth session of the Group " .
٤٥- أشار الرئيس إلى أن فريق الخبراء الحكومي الدولي المعني بالتنغستن كان قد اعتمد مقررا TD/B/CN.1/27)، الفقرة ٥٢( أحال فيه " إلى الدورة الرابعة للجنة الدائمة للسلع اﻷساسية أمر تحديد تاريخ انعقاد دورته الرابعة " .

74. A representative of the UNCTAD secretariat introduced the " Review of the current market situation and outlook " (TD/B/CN.1/TUNGSTEN/12), prepared by the secretariat in response to a request by the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Tungsten at its third session " that the secretariat pursue its collection and dissemination of statistics on tungsten, and its review of the tungsten market " (TD/B/CN.1/27, para. 25).
٤٧- قدم ممثل عن أمانة اﻷونكتاد الوثيقة المعنونة " استعراض الحالة الراهنة والصورة المرتقبة للسوق " (TD/B/CN.1/TUNGSTEN/12)، التي أعدتها أمانة اﻷونكتاد استجابة لطلب من فريق الخبراء الحكومي الدولي المعني بالتنغستن في دورته الثالثة بأن " تتابع اﻷمانة جمعها ونشرها الاحصاءات عن التنغستن، واستعراضها لسوق التنغستن " TD/B/CN.1/27)، الفقرة ٥٢(.
