Among other activities, the task force examined Millennium Development Goal 8, on a global partnership for development, and suggested criteria for its periodic evaluation with the aim of improving the effectiveness of global partnerships with regard to the realization of the right to development.

The task force agrees that in enhancing the effectiveness of global partnerships with regard to the realization of the right to development, it is necessary to identify and emphasize the human rights dimensions that should complement and guide such partnerships, within the existing frameworks and mechanisms.
53- تتفق فرقة العمل على أنه بغية تعزيز فعالية الشراكات العالمية فيما يتعلق بإعمال الحق في التنمية، من الضروري أن يتم تحديد وتأكيد أبعاد حقوق الإنسان التي ينبغي أن تكمِّل وتُرشد مثل هذه الشراكات، ضمن الأطر والآليات القائمة.

It endorsed the recommendation of the Working Group at its sixth session to extend the mandate of the high-level task force for a further period of one year to examine Millennium Development Goal 8, on global partnership for development, and suggest criteria for its periodic evaluation, with the aim of improving the effectiveness of global partnerships with regard to the realization of the right to development.

While the Working Group was aware of gaps and inconsistencies in the practices of development partnerships in enhancing the effectiveness of global partnerships for the implementation of the right to development, it expressed the opinion that it was necessary to identify all dimensions of the principle of the right to development that could guide and complement the work of such partnerships (E/CN.4/2006/26, para. 39).
32 - ولئن كان الفريق العامل يدرك وجود ثغرات وأوجه تباين في ممارسات الشراكات الإنمائية في تعزيز فعالية الشراكات العالمية من أجل إعمال الحق في التنمية، فقد ارتأى أنه من اللازم تحديد جميع أبعاد الحق في التنمية التي من شأنها أن توجه هذه الشراكات وتكملها (E/CN.4/2006/26، الفقرة 39).

By Commission resolution 2005/4, the task force was requested to " examine Millennium Development Goal 8 on a global partnership for development and suggest criteria for its periodic evaluation with the aim of improving the effectiveness of global partnerships with regard to the realization of the right to development " .

In approaching the criteria relevant to assessing the effectiveness of global partnerships for development with regard to the realization of the right to development, the Working Group recognized that other aspects not mentioned in Goal 8 (such as private sector and global governance) were also relevant to the realization of Goal 8.(as is, HLTF § 57)

35. The Working Group considered the report of the highlevel task force on the implementation of the right to development, which constituted a good basis for its deliberations and agreed conclusions and recommendations on Goal 8, on a global partnership for development, and on criteria for its periodic evaluation with the aim of improving the effectiveness of global partnerships with regard to the realization of the right to development.
