32. The arbitral tribunal constituted to hear the Ioannis Kardassopoulos and Ron Fuchs v. The Republic of Georgia case determined that, although the tribunal invoked article 7 during the jurisdictional phase, articles 4, 5 and 11 were equally applicable to the dispute.

27. Mr. Fuchs (Czech Republic), with reference to the question put by Ms. Tavares da Silva, said that the harmonization of Czech laws with those of the European Union was one of the Government's main tasks before its accession in 2004.

Mr. Fuchs (Czech Republic), responding to questions raised under article 5 relating to the mass media and proposed legislative amendments, said that although in former times the mass media had been subject to censorship, more recently the Government had been working in partnership with the press, with full respect for their independence.
2 - السيد فوخس (الجمهورية التشيكية): رد على المسائل المثارة في إطار المادة 5 المتصلة بوسائط الإعلام الجماهيري والتعديلات التشريعية المقترحة، فقال إنه رغم أن وسائط الإعلام الجماهيري كانت تخضع في الأزمنة السابقة للرقابة، ما برحت الحكومة تعمل مؤخرا بالشراكة مع الصحافة، ومع الاحترام الكامل لاستقلالها.

63. Mr. Fuchs (Czech Republic) thanked the Committee for its part in the constructive dialogue it had had with his delegation and for its understanding for his country's problems. He promised that the Committee's recommendations would be publicized in the Czech Republic and disseminated to all relevant bodies and organizations.
