وسلّمت اللجنة، في قراراتها 1996/52 و1997/39 و1998/50 بأن حماية المشردين داخليا من شأنها أن تتعزز بتحديد وإعادة تأكيد وتدعيم حقوق محددة فيما يتعلق بحمايتهم.

In resolutions 1996/52 and 1997/39, the Commission emphasized the need for better implementation of existing international law and also recognized that the protection of internally displaced persons would be strengthened by identifying, reaffirming and consolidating specific rights for their protection.
٦١- وأكدت اللجنة في قراريها ٦٩٩١/٢٥ و٧٩٩١/٩٣ الحاجة إلى تحسين تنفيذ القانون الدولي القائم، وسلﱠمت أيضاً بإمكان تعزيز حماية المشردين داخلياً بتحديد وإعادة تأكيد وتدعيم حقوق محددة فيما يتعلق بحمايتهم.
