1. From 1992 to November 1993, Georgia was subject to tensions among different ethnic groups and armed conflicts related to the separatist movements in Abkhazia and South Ossetia which drove sizeable numbers to leave their homes in search of protection and assistance.
١- من عام ٢٩٩١ الى شهر تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ٣٩٩١، كانت جورجيا موضع توترات فيما بين الجماعات الاثنية المختلفة ونزاعات مسلحة متصلة بالحركات الانفصالية في أبخازيا وجنوب اوسيتيا، مما أدى الى حمل أعداد كبيرة من اﻷشخاص على ترك منازلهم بحثا عن الحماية والمساعدة.

The Committee takes note of the problems and difficulties faced by the State party owing to the secessionist conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia following independence and the resulting internal and external mass displacement of a large number of the population, which has created the increased risk of human rights violations in that part of the territory.
80- تحيط اللجنة علما بالمشاكل والصعوبات التي تواجهها الدولة الطرف بسبب الصراعات من أجل الانفصال في أبخازيا وجنوب أوسيتيا عقب الاستقلال وما نجم عن ذلك من تشريد جماعي داخلي وخارجي لعدد غفير من السكان، مما أدى إلى ازدياد احتمال وقوع انتهاكات لحقوق الإنسان في ذلك الجزء من الإقليم.

86. While acknowledging the positive steps taken, HR Committee was concerned that the population living in Abkhazia and South Ossetia did not fully enjoy the Covenant provisions.
86- وفي حين أقرّت اللجنة المعنية بحقوق الإنسان بالخطوات الإيجابية التي اتُخذت، فقد أعربت عن قلقها بشأن عدم تمتع السكان المقيمين في أبخازيا وجنوب أوسيتيا تمتعاً كاملاً بأحكام العهد(171).

As the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs had emphasized after meeting his Georgian counterpart, it was necessary above all to refrain from militant rhetoric and provocative actions, as required by Security Council resolution 1716 (2006), and to implement the previous agreements reached to resolve the conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The CHAIRPERSON suggested that issue 1 should be retitled " Impact of the events in Abkhazia and South Ossetia " (arts. 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 14) and revised to read: " Please comment on the impact of the events in Abkhazia in 1993 and 1994 and in South Ossetia in 1992 on the exercise of the rights guaranteed under articles 6, 7, 9, 10 and 14 of the Covenant.
