The foundations for such regional cooperation had been laid in 1997 with the holding of the first Northeast Asia Subregional Consultative Meeting on Transit Transport Cooperation in Ulaanbaatar.

The Meeting which was organized by UNCTAD and the UNDP in close cooperation with the Mongolian Government, was held in Ulaanbaatar from 20 to 22 May 1997.

As a result of a tripartite meeting held in Ulan Bator under the auspices of UNCTAD earlier this year, Mongolia, Russia and China have agreed to conclude a transit traffic framework agreement.

The Government of Mongolia, in cooperation with the Division for the Advancement of Women, was currently making preparations for an expert group meeting on rural women, to be held in May 2001 in Ulaanbaatar.

It is for those reasons that the Rio Group has from the beginning followed with interest the development of the International Conferences of New or Restored Democracies, including the Conference recently held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, which adopted a Plan of Action and a Declaration on Democracy, Good Governance and Civil Society.

Regional efforts include a meeting concerning national machinery for gender equality in African countries, held from 16 to18 April 2001 in Addis Ababa, and an expert group meeting on the situation of rural women within the context of globalization, held in Ulaanbaatar from 4 to 8 June 2001.
وشملت الجهود الإقليمية عقد اجتماع بشأن الأجهزة الوطنية لتحقيق المساواة بين الجنسين في البلدان الأفريقية في أديس أبابا في الفترة من 16 إلى 18 نيسان/ أبريل 2001، وعقد اجتماع لفريق الخبراء بشأن حالة المرأة الريفية في سياق العولمة في أولان باتور في الفترة من 4 إلى 8 حزيران/يونيه 2001.

A meeting of focal points of nuclear-weapon-free zones of Latin America and the Caribbean (Tlatelolco Treaty), the South Pacific (Rarotonga Treaty), South-East Asia (Bangkok Treaty) and Central Asia, as well as of Mongolia, was held on 27 and 28 April 2009 in Ulaanbaatar.

34. As a result of the meeting of focal points of nuclear-weapon-free zones held in April 2009 in Ulaanbaatar, the Agency in 2010 established a web page on nuclear-weapon-free zones to which focal points can upload relevant information (see www.nuclearweaponsfreezones.org).
34 - وفي إطار نتائج اجتماع منسقي المناطق الخالية من الأسلحة النووية المعقود في أولان باتور في نيسان/أبريل 2009، أنشأت الوكالة في عام 2010 موقعا شبكيا للمناطق الخالية من الأسلحة النووية يمكِّن منسقي هذه المناطق من تحميل المعلومات التي تهمهم. (انظر الموقع www.nuclearweaponsfreezones.org).

My Government believes that the first-ever North-east Asia Subregional Consultative Meeting on Transit Transportation, held in Ulan Bator this year, has laid the groundwork for the development of such regional cooperation.
وترى حكومة بلدي أن الاجتماع الاستشاري دون اﻹقليمي لشمال شرقي آسيا، وهو اﻷول من نوعه للنقل العابر، وقد عُقد في أولان باتور هذا العام، قد وضع اﻷساس ﻹقامة هذا التعاون اﻹقليمي.

At the international level, Mongolia was proud to chair the Freedom Online Coalition, and her delegation invited Member States to join the organization, which was committed to advancing Internet freedom, and participate in its next conference, which would be held in Ulan Bator in May 2015.

The United Nations has also supported the series of Conferences of the New or Restored Democracies, and is playing a significant role as regards the Fifth International Conference, due to be held in Ulan Bator in June 2003.
كما قدّمت الأمم المتحدة الدعم لسلسلة من المؤتمرات المعنية بالديمقراطيات الجديدة والمستعادة، وهي تؤدّي دورا بارزا فيما يتعلق بالمؤتمر الدولي الخامس المزمـع عقده في أولان باتور في حزيران/يونيه عام 2003.

Recognizing the work carried out in October 2008 during the General Assembly of the United Nations by the representatives of the NWFZs and Mongolia, as well as the Meeting of Focal Points of NWFZs and Mongolia held in Ulan Bator in April 2009;
