It opposed any provisions with financial implications, especially the very high cost of the proposal for the Committee on the Rights of the Child to work in two chambers.
وهو يعارض أية أحكام تترتب عليها آثار مالية، لا سيما التكلفة الباهظة للمقترح الداعي إلى أن تعمل لجنة حقوق الطفل في إطار فريقين.

According to the Chairperson, the Committee was considering continuation of its work in two chambers if required by the influx of reports, and the Committee may submit a proposal to that effect to the sixty-second session of the Assembly.

5. The Chairperson of the Committee will present her oral report to the General Assembly at its sixty-third session and will inform the Assembly of the Committee's request to work in two chambers beginning in October 2009.
5 - وستقدم رئيسة اللجنة تقريرها الشفوي إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثالثة والستين وستبلغ الجمعية بطلب اللجنة العمل في إطار فريقين ابتداء من تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2009.

5 - وعملا بقرار الجمعية العامة 59/261 المؤرخ 23 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2004، اجتمعت اللجنة في إطار فريقين أثناء دورتيها الحادية والأربعين والثانية والأربعين.

Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 59/261 of 23 December 2004, the Chairperson of the Committee on the Rights of the Child presented an oral report to the sixty-first session of the General Assembly on the work of the Committee, including an assessment of the progress made with regard to its work in two chambers.
وعملا بقرار الجمعية العامة 59/261 المؤرخ 23 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2004، قدم رئيس لجنة حقوق الطفل إلى الدورة الحادية والستين للجمعية العامة تقريرا شفويا عن عمل اللجنة اشتمل على تقييم للتقدم المحرز على صعيد عملها في إطار فريقين.

25. It was not advisable for the Committee on the Rights of the Child to hold meetings in two chambers, as the reports should be considered in plenary, in order to ensure transparency and objectivity. Perhaps, instead, the Committee could envisage holding more sessions.
25- ومن رأي مصر أنه لا يستحسن من قبل لجنة حقوق الطفل أن تعقد اجتماعاتها في إطار فريقين متوازيين، فمن الأفضل للتقارير أن يتم النظر فيها في اجتماعات عامة بغية ضمان الشفافية والموضوعية، وثمة تساؤل عما إذا كانت اللجنة تنوي، بدلا من ذلك، أن تعقد مزيدا من الدورات.

4. At its fifty-ninth session, the General Assembly agreed with the request of the Committee to work simultaneously in two chambers during 2006 (starting with the pre-sessional working group meeting of October 2005) in order to increase the working capacity of the Committee and decrease the existing backlog of reports.
4- وقد وافقت الجمعية العامة، في دورتها التاسعة والخمسين، على طلب اللجنة بأن تعمل في إطار فريقين يجتمعان في الوقت نفسه خلال عام 2006 (بدءاً باجتماع الفريق العامل السابق للدورة في تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2005) من أجل زيادة طاقة عمل اللجنة وخفض عدد التقارير المتراكمة.

16. Ms. Lee Yanghee (Chairperson of the Committee on the Rights of the Child), introducing the Committee's report (A/63/41), said that the system of working in two chambers had been very effective in reducing the backlog of reports pending consideration. All concluding observations had been adopted in plenary session.

34. At its 1342nd meeting on 6 June 2008 the Committee decided to request the General Assembly to approve its request to work in two chambers for a period of four sessions, and related pre-sessional working groups, beginning with its pre-sessional working group in September 2009 (Annexed).
34- قررت اللجنة، في جلستها 1342 المعقودة في 6 حزيران/يونيه 2008، أن تطلب إلى الجمعية العامة الموافقة على طلبها العمل في إطار فريقين على مدى أربع دورات، وبالنسبة لأفرقة العمل لما قبل الدورات ذات الصلة، بدءاً بجلسات فريق عملها السابق للدورة المزمع عقدها في أيلول/سبتمبر 2009 (مرفق).

898. At its 1098th meeting, held on 17 January 2006, the Committee held an informal meeting with States parties and discussed issues related to modalities of work in two chambers and consideration of reports under the two Optional Protocols to the Convention, the reform of the treaty bodies, modalities relating to its country visits and workshops on follow up to the implementation of its concluding observations.
898- ناقشت اللجنة في جلستها 1098 المعقودة في 17 كانون الثاني/يناير 2006 اجتماعاً غير رسمي مع الدول الأطراف وناقشت المسائل المتعلقة بأساليب العمل في إطار فريقين كما ناقشت مسألة النظر في التقارير بموجب البروتوكولين الاختياريين للاتفاقية، ومسألة إصلاح الهيئات المنشأة بموجب المعاهدات، وشروط الزيارات القطرية التي ستجريها، وحلقات العمل التي ستعقد لمتابعة تنفيذ الملاحظات الختامية التي تقدمها.

The Committee therefore requests the General Assembly, at its sixty-third session, to approve the present request and to provide appropriate financial support to enable the Committee to work in two chambers as of October 2009 for its fifty-third pre-sessional working group and as of January 2010 for its fifty-third session.
وبناء على ذلك، تطلب اللجنة إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثالثة والستين، أن توافق على هذا الطلب وأن تقدم الدعم المالي المناسب لتمكين اللجنة من العمل في إطار فريقين ابتداء من تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2009 بالنسبة لفريقها العامل لما قبل الدورة الثالثة والخمسين وابتداء من كانون الثاني/يناير 2010 بالنسبة لدورتها الثالثة والخمسين.
