There is a commitment on the part of Governments that are parties to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) to implement legal, organizational and environmental management measures, including substantive technological changes, in order to comply with the requirements of the Convention.
134- وهناك التزام من قِبل الحكومات الأطراف في اتفاقية ستوكهولم المتعلقة بالملوّثات العضوية الثابتة بتنفيذ تدابير قانونية وتنظيمية وتدابير لإدارة البيئة، بما في ذلك إجراء تغييرات تكنولوجية كبيرة، بغية الامتثال لمقتضيات الاتفاقية.

74. With regard to toxic food, it is significant that parties to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants agreed to limit the use of harmful chemicals to " environmentally sound " purposes (such as using DDT only for malaria control) and to prevent the production and use of pesticides or industrial chemicals with persistent organic pollutants.
74- وفيما يتعلق بالأغذية السُميّة من الأمور ذات الدّلالة أن الأطراف في اتفاقية ستوكهولم المتعلقة بالملوثات العضوية الثابتة قصرت استخدام المواد الكيميائية الضارة لأغراض " سليمة بيئياً " (مثل استخدام مادة الد. د. ت فقط لمكافحة الملاريا) ومنع إنتاج واستخدام مبيدات الآفات أو المواد الكيميائية الصناعية التي تحتوي على ملوثات عضوية ثابتة().

By December 2007 there were 119 parties to the Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in International Trade, exceeding by 8 per cent the target of 110; and 150 parties to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, exceeding by 15 per cent the target of 130.
وبحلول كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2007، دخل 119 طرفا في اتفاقية روتردام؛ بشأن إجراء الموافقة المسبقة المستنيرة بشأن بعض المواد الكيميائية والمبيدات الخطرة في التجارة الدولية. أي بنسبة 8 في المائة زيادة على هدف 110 أطراف و 150 طرفا في اتفاقية ستوكهولم بشأن الملوثات العضوية الثابتة؛ أي بنسبة 15 في المائة أكثر من هدف 130 طرفا.
