87. OIC also understood that the freedom to adopt a religion or belief of one's choice and the freedom to manifest religion were applicable to both the individual and the religious community to which the individual belonged.

No cases of torture or arbitrary arrest on grounds of religion and belief had been reported and the authorities were doing their best to guarantee the right to manifest one's religion and belief (meetings and places of worship).

58. Where a policy decision has been taken at the national level to interfere with the freedom to manifest one's religion or belief with regard to wearing religious symbols issues of commensurability need to be thoroughly respected both by the administration and during possible legal review.
58- وعند اتخاذ قرار سياسي على المستوى الوطني بتقييد حرية الشخص في الجهر بدينه أو عقيدته فيما يتعلق بارتداء الرموز الدينية، يجب احترام المسائل المتعلقة بالتناسب احتراماً كاملاً من قِبل الإدارة وخلال الاستعراض القانوني المحتمل.
