The Convention's emphasis on the importance of equality of opportunity and of participation in public life and decisionmaking has led the Committee to review article 7 and to suggest to States parties that in reviewing their laws and policies and in reporting under the Convention, they should take into account the comments and recommendations set out below.

The Government had adopted a quota system to improve the participation of women in public life and decision-making by implementing an affirmative action process to narrow the gap between women and men.

21. The Committee is concerned that Roma women and girls remain in vulnerable and marginalized situations, especially in regards to health, education, employment and participation in public life and decision-making.
21 - وتشعر اللجنة بالقلق لأن النساء والفتيات من طائفة روما ما زلن معرضات للأذى ويعانين من وضع مهمش، ولا سيما فيما يتعلق بالصحة والتعليم والعمل والمشاركة في الحياة العامة وصنع القرار.

It calls upon the State party to provide in its next periodic report a comprehensive picture of the situation of Roma women and girls, including data disaggregated by sex in regard to their educational opportunities and achievements, access to employment and health-care services and participation in public life and decision-making.
وتدعو الدولة الطرف إلى أن تقدم في تقريرها الدوري القادم صورة شاملة لحالة النساء والفتيات من طائفة روما، بما يشمل بيانات مصنفة حسب الجنس توضح فرص التعليم ومعدلات إتمامه المتعلقة بهن وفرص العمل وخدمات الرعاية الصحية المتاحة لهن ومشاركتهن في الحياة العامة وصنع القرار.

وتطلب منها أيضا أن تدرج في تقريرها المقبل معلومات شاملة عن وضع النساء والفتيات الكرديات، بما في ذلك بيانات عن الفرص المتاحة لهن وإنجازاتهن في مجال التعليم، ومدى حصولهن على فرص العمل وخدمات الرعاية الصحية والمشاركة في الحياة العامة وصنع القرار.

20. Samoa indicated that increasing the participation of women in public life and decision-making was one of the priority areas of the National Policy for Women.

The Committee remains concerned about the marginalized situation of certain disadvantaged groups of women, in particular Roma women, migrant women and women with disabilities, who face multiple forms of discrimination in all areas of political, economic and social life, including participation in public life and decision-making, education, employment and health.
