Noting with appreciation the work undertaken by the Government of France to improve the translation into French of the lists of wastes contained in Annexes VIII and IX,

1. Decides to incorporate the modifications proposed by the Government of France into the French language version of the lists of wastes contained in Annexes VIII and IX;

The following disposal operations, as provided for in Annexes IV A and IV B of the Basel Convention, should be permitted for the purpose of destruction and irreversible transformation of the POP content in wastes when applied in such a way as to ensure that the remaining wastes and releases do not exhibit the characteristics of POPs:

If a waste is not listed in Annexes VIII or IX of the Basel Convention, insert " not listed " .

1. The review or adjustment of the lists of wastes contained in Annexes VIII and IX of the Basel Convention can entail either amendments or corrections of those annexes.

20. The decisions of the Open-ended Working Group on the placement or removal of wastes on the lists contained in Annexes VIII and IX shall be transmitted in a report of the Open-ended Working Group through the secretariat to the following meeting of the Conference of the Parties.

23. The Secretariat of the Basel Convention should provide a report to Parties on the status of the lists of wastes in Annexes VIII and IX of the Basel Convention on a regular basis and when changes have entered into force.
23 - تقدم أمانة اتفاقية بازل تقريراً إلى الأطراف عن حالة قوائم النفايات في الملحقين الثامن والتاسع في اتفاقية بازل على أساس منتظم وعندما تدخل التغييرات حيز النفاذ.

The Secretariat also receives and distributes information, inter alia on specific exemptions and notifications regarding notes (ii) and (iii) in Annexes A and B, national implementation plans, national reports on implementation and so on. In the latter context, the Secretariat is also required to prepare and make available periodic reports on the information contained in national reports.
وتتلقى الأمانة وتوزع أيضاً المعلومات عن أمور من بينها الإعفاءات المحددة والإخطارات بشأن الحاشية `2` و`3` في الملحقين ألف وباء، وخطط التنفيذ الوطنية والتقارير الوطنية بشأن التنفيذ وما إلى ذلك وفي السياق الآخر يطلب إلى الأمانة أيضاً إعداد وتوفير تقارير دورية عن المعلومات الواردة في التقارير الوطنية.

Several representatives stressed the importance of harmonizing the lists of wastes contained in Annexes VIII and IX and those compiled by the European Union and OECD, as the current lack of concordance between the three caused significant difficulties for importers, exporters and customs officers, among others.
وشدد عدد من الممثلين على أهمية توحيد قوائم النفايات الواردة في الملحقين الثامن والتاسع وتلك التي جمعها الاتحاد الأوروبي ومنظمة التعاون والتنمية في الميدان الاقتصادي حيث أن عدم التنسيق بين الأطراف الثلاثة خلق مصاعب جمة لدى المستوردين والمصدرين وضباط الجمارك إلى جانب أناس آخرين.
